actually, termcap and, most importantly, terminfo.
"Cannot find terminfo entry for 'screen'." when TERM=screen

actually x11vnc works great for me in the end; it's not the fastest but it does the job.

i also tried perl 5.22. it took quite a while and then there was some error. i didn't have time left to check it but tru64 does come with quite a useable perl already so it shouldn't be tragedy :P
rsync and links are just the binaries because that's all there is.
emacs 22.3 is the last version with osf support.

Straight from the source, no change; works great.
It did require libjpeg and zlib; which compiled without issue either.
Ideally you should probably just do a static anyway; easier to deal with perhaps.

unfortunately that's a bit clumsy on tru64. first you have to understand how the setld kits are "designed"
