I have lots of Sbus cards someone else was throwing away... two keepers though, a Sun Video SBus card, and a dual FCAL 100Mb card (a handful of 25MB fcal cards that everyone tells me are propriatary, but conform to early revision of the same standards the other one does...) two multiport serial cards, some OC3 cards some FDDI cards, I think that's it.

system wise, I have an empty marathon CPCI chassis, and a SUN Ultra II with dual 300's, and 512MB RAM. I'm also holding on to my friend's ss5 (looks like the two have the same frame buffer) as he wants it with an operating system, and i've so far failed to install ss9 on it.

I'm in a similar situation to the one in another thread, where someone has a ultrasparc 10 but doesn't have a use for it. I was going to make it into a router, but the interim box does that job using less power, and making less noise...

I only have my Ultra 30 and a Sun monitor. I use to have two SS20's but had to get rid of them when I moved. Should have kept them ...

I'd like a Blade 1000/2000 later this year.

Cool thread idea! Edited this post in retrospect, since everyone else took the opportunity to mention what they have too much.

In use

SPARCstation 1+, 25 MHz, 64 MB, two Hawk drives, FDD, on-board AUI transceived into RJ45, still fixing the NVRAM and PROM issues, but will run 2.5.1 eventually.

SPARCserver 20, Dual 180 MHz HyperSPARC, 512 MB RAM, QFE, Sun Video SBUS card, 73 gig root, 50 gig option drive. Uplink via two 100 MBit links, this be my home server. nice to play with. Have spares to run it as Dual 75 MHz, plenty of backup RAM and replacement QFE board, PSU, backplane, internal cabling and sleds, if ever something decides to break. It'll be as cool, just slower.

I also have a SPARCStorage Array 214. RSMs seem to be impossible to acquire, though. All the trays are there, however. Anybody dealt with 'em? Know a way to ghettomount a SCSI drive?

as to moogly guy, I can get you two 168's for the ultra 2, I have a pair of 300's, and a pair of 168's, and I'd like to end with a pair of 400's, but the 300's were cheap.

SS20 -- Dual Ross Hypersparcs (forget the spec on them), 9G 10K drive, 256M. Note to others, never put a 10K drive in an SS20. It's too hot.

Ultra 5 -- 360MHz USII, 256M, 40G, USB card

FrankenSPARC -- SPARCEngine motherboard in a cheap aluminum ATX case, 440MHz USII, 1G, 18G, XVR-100 (with DVI console hack).

It's one that was in one of the Sunblade 1000... It's laying horizontally in the SB1K, but so are the PCI cards too...

This RAM isn't quite proprietary, but it's hard to come by.

Probably doesn't make too much of a difference in real life...

Oh, it's not that I cannot understand that - I wasn't too eager to make that swap, either - but at times, practical issues have to take precedence. At least the PIII is also running OpenBSD...

And a PogoPlug would be almost as fast as that Pentium III, would pull 5 watts plus the power consumption of hard drives, and isn't x86 - it's ARM (although Linux, not *BSD.)

Anyway, I was under the impression that Sun's particular flavor of EDO *WAS* proprietary. Not that it's hard to find on eBay cheaply.

As a firewall plus web server plus file server plus mail server plus DNS server plus DHCP server plus ....? Not from the descriptions I've found... ...and Linux is not going to be a firewall in my network... But you're right, there are more efficient options - that's on the TODO list...

It's a single-core 1.2 GHz Marvell Kirkwood chip. I forget the performance numbers, though, but it should be able to do all of that sufficiently. The only problem is I/O, because the standard PogoPlug only has USB for connecting mass storage, but there's a clone that has eSATA.
