I'm looking for the SGI Technical Report papers. I found some, but I would like to get some newer ones (for some reason I can't find anything beyond Onyx2) and the very old ones. Here's what I have already:

I downloaded the PDF and tried to upload it to the wiki but PDF is not an accepted file type (unless nekonoko wants to allow PDF) so I added a link to the Reality Engine page in the wiki:

I might put the others in the see also sections in other parts of the wiki as well... or someone else could do it.

Looks like that is straightened out now - PDFs and other popular document types can now be uploaded to the wiki.

Thanks - if anyone can recommend any papers from ACM or IEEE - my university has a subscription, but since I will get my degree soon I won't be able to access it anymore. I downloaded some papers already (mostly by searching for names like "Origin", "Onyx" or "Altix") but maybe I missed something important.

You mean this: The Stanford DASH multiprocessor ? This one is freely available, I will have to ask a friend to browse the ACM/IEEE papers, because my university already revoked my access (graduated today).

One funny thing I've found in chapter 2:
In addition, the OCTANE system incorporates the industry standard 72-pin DIMM connector pinout, allowing the user to add off-the-shelf memory devices.

It seems the Octane was designed to use standard DIMMs, but then greed prevailed and we've got proprietary DIMMs. I also think they meant 72-bit DIMMs (64-bit + parity), standard SDRAM DIMMs had 168 pins (unless they wanted 72-pin SO-DIMMs).

If you Google for the right search terms, you'll find the BRIDGE, XBRIDGE, and XBOW manuals. Apparently been sitting out there on a NetBSD dev's site since 2009.
