OPNET(R) is a computer-aided engineering tool for communication networks and analysis. Originally conceived through research at MIT, OPNET reduces costly and time-consuming simulation software development in the network design and analysis cycle. Models are graphically specified and automatically translated to executable simulation code.
Application areas include: network planning and analysis; LAN development; microwave network development; protocol development and evaluation; and routing algorithm evaluation. The power of OPNET is in its ability to support the design of complex simulations in a fraction of the time normally required.
