FLOVIS

FLOVIS is a visualizer for data on 3-D multiblock structured grids. Data representations include contour maps, iso-curves, iso-surfaces, vector plots, and 2-D line charts. Geometry can be rendered in wireframe, hidden lines, or lighting. Visualization techniques include real-time animation for parameter-dependent data, thresholding, index sweeping, and translucency for volume data. The input data file is a semi-standard in the European aerospace community (NLR Visdat), and it contains blocks of structured grids in a discipline-independent hierarchical format. The main use of FLOVIS is for postprocessing in CFD, but it has proved to be a fast and useful tool for scientific visualization in general.
